Dr. Paul T. "Chip" Jackson, M.D.
Born in Indiana, the son of an Air Force master sergeant, Dr. Jackson traveled frequently throughout his childhood. Beginning in junior high school, he called Austin, Texas home. After High School he moved to Tennessee where he worked at several different jobs, but knew that his ultimate goal was to attend college. He knew that he needed funds to attend school. Though he never realized his musical abilities, at an early age he developed an interest in singing that was noticed by a few individuals that persuaded him to audition for a music scholarship. As fate would have it, in 1983 he received a scholarship to Lambuth College where he received a Bachelors Degree in 1986. This allowed him to develop his love of the arts as well as the sciences. Though everyone expected a career in music, Dr. Jackson once again surprised them by taking an unexpected turn towards the career that had always intrigued him. The same career that to this day is still as intriguing and exciting to him.

He was accepted to New York Medical College where he earned his Medical Degree and completed his residency at the University Of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tennessee. Here he met his future wife, Teri who would ultimately become his backbone and support through his endeavors in the development the Jackson Diagnostic Clinic.

Through many twist and turns he found his way to a Wonderful community in Paris, Texas in the fall of 1997. Here he continues to develop his practice for the sole purpose of providing comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities for his patients. Dr. Jackson maintains that his passion for medicine is as strong today as it was when he began his career efforts. He prides himself on his balance between his practice and family. He enjoys spending time with his son he calls his "best buddy". He is an avid swimmer, an amateur wine connoisseur, a car enthusiast, and never forgets his solace through music.

Dr. Jackson, perhaps more than anything, hopes the Jackson Clinic continues to grow and makes available to his patients a place that is reliable, committed to excellence, and never lax in its' endeavors to care and heal.

Dr. Jackson "Cirriculum Vitae"

The studies indicate that anywhere up to almost 40% of the population studied showed prevalence of excessive sleepiness. The literature is complicated and shows extensive variability suggesting the different populations studied.

Simple but strong physiologic assays of sleepiness such as the Epworth Sleepiness Scale (that you can find by clicking on our sleep clinic information) found the highest rates of sleepiness in the various populations. It is a very important tool and one that if your concerned about your daytime fatigue and excessive sleepiness and you have a score of 10 or greater you should contact our office for further evaluation.
